Some home window cleaning tips that you might not know about

Cleaning your home’s windows might sound simple enough. You get a rag some window cleaning product and start scrubbing. Right?  Well if you are reading this then you have probably noticed that it isn’t as simple as that and you have searched for some ideas to improve that on the Internet.

Here are some handy homemade recipes that you can make from some everyday products that you find in your kitchen cabinet. And can be used on any glass based surface throughout your home.

What you need to get started is a spray bottle. Don’t reuse one from a cleaner you already bought. Even after being washed it might still contain some chemicals from its past content. A new spray bottle can be used multiple times with the recipes below.

Vinegar based cleaner

1 part white vinegar

1 part water

This solution shouldn’t have any problems taking care with any dust or slightly smudged windows. But if you need something stronger you can always add surgical spirit.

Surgical spirit based cleaner

1 cup surgical spirit

1 cup white vinegar

1 cup water

Surgical spirit is a safe way of pumping up the power the recipe. Another way of making it a tad bit stronger is adding a little bit of dishwashing liquid or liquid soap. Surgical spirit and soap are great ways to kill any unwanted germs.

Ultimate cleaner

1 cup surgical spirit

1 cup white vinegar

1 cup hot water

1 tablespoon cornflour

Cornflour? You might ask yourself. Yes, cornflour. It might sound peculiar but cornflour is the secret ingredient that makes this homemade recipe shine brighter than any other. In my searchings I couldn’t find out why exactly this is the best way for cleaning any glass surfaces but it gets the job done.

You could even just try using pure vinegar. The measurements in these recipes can be adjusted to anyone’s needs. You can experiment and make bend them to your personal needs and preferences.
